Thanksgiving Already?

How the heck is it Thanksgiving week already? Is it just me or did that come out of nowhere? I know I sound like such a grandpa when I say this, but my gosh the years are just whizzing by. It was just March, I blinked and now we’re wrapping up the year?

I'm in LA right now, just for a couple of days, to shoot a small project. I'm on the Paramount Studios lot, which always feels magical. Although I work in entertainment, it’s not often I get to work on a studio lot, so when I do, it’s always exciting. I love seeing the sets of Manhattan and Random neighborhoods. The child in me still gets super excited and I think “how the heck did I end up here”? I really am the luckiest boy in the world and, my gosh, I'm grateful for it all!

I get home the day before TG, and I already did my big shop, so I have everything I need to cook and bake. Rob and I are having a few friends over for the day, and I always do the cooking, so I'm going to try to make things like the pies and cookies the day before, as soon as I get home, so that making the savory stuff for lunch and dinner doesn’t take forever. I love TG meal, and the desserts. I plan on grazing all day.

When TG is all done, I leave for London the next Morning, for 4 days. I'm heading out there for the British Fashion Awards, and I'm so excited for it. I'm not taking Rob and Ismail on this trip, unfortunately, but it’s such a quick trip that I didn’t wanna ruin routines for it.

I am so excited for my outfit for the event. I asked a wonderful Pakistani designer to work with me on bringing to life a suit that I designed, and he did the most beautiful work. Just wait till you see the embroidery on this thing. It's next level. Mosin Rahnja is such a talent, and I love that I get to work with one of my people.

Can I give you an update on my brand Launch, Was Him? I was so nervous for launch, last week. I was praying that it would be well received and thank gosh it was. So many people seemed to love the collection, and everyone was being so positive. We did an early access launch, the night before full launch and it set the tone for the brand. I loved seeing what people were buying, which styles they liked most, and how fast styles were selling out. It was the best feeling to see just how many people wanted something I’d designed. It’s a feeling you never get used to, or get over, and I'm forever grateful. I truly do love the coats. Every one. I don’t know what swings a person to a certain style, but it's crazy how fast the plaid coat sold out, within the first couple of hours, my word. Americans really do like their plaids!

I'm going to link all coats here, so you can take a look, and see which ones we still have left. I hate to say I have a favorite, but I do. The Ludlow, Black with the brown horse embroidery. I pretty much live in that one!

The night we pre-launched, I went to the InStyle Awards. I was honored to be invited, and sat next to the Editor-in-Chief, Laura Brown, who I am lucky to call a close friend, whom I love.

I was also sat with Cindy Crawford, Melissa McCarthy and Nicole Kidman, which blew my gahdamn mind!!! They were so, so lovely to me, and the whole night I kept thinking “I cannot believe I'm having dinner with these Icons, and that they know me and are talking to me”. It blew me away, and they were just the sweetest and so funny. I had such a magical night, that I will never forget.

OK, back to set. Gotta film. I hope you all have the most beautiful, relaxing Thanksgiving!!

Shooting Next in Fashion, life in NYC and canceled flights. It’s been a week.

I’ve now been in NYC a couple of weeks and really feel settled in to a routine. When I first got here, I had a day off before I started work, and I felt really blue. I didn’t plan anything with friends, as I wanted to be free to go to the stores to get whatever I needed to feel at home at my temporary apartment. But, I was done by mid day an...

First week of Next in Fashion down, and settling in to NYC life

It’s crazy how fast the time is going by for me, here in New York. I’m here for 5 weeks and sad that I'm already 2 weeks in. It’s bitter sweet. Of course, I wanna be home and with my son, to see every new little thing he does, and to hold him in my arms, but I also love being here doing my job. I love this job. I'm learning that I can love...

Back to shooting my favorite show, Next in Fashion, and celebrating my son’s first Eid.

Every time I come here to write a new post, I wanna start it by saying “wow, what a week”. I guess every week has felt a little bit nuts over recent years, and it just never gets old. That’s a good thing. I love the excitement I still feel.
