You guys, we arrived in Iceland a few days ago, and I cannot even begin to tell you how obsessed Rob and I are. We arrived at 7am, and breezed through the airport, after being rapid tested in the airport. Rented a car and got straight on the road to our Airbnb, about half an hour out of Reykjavik. Within literal minutes, we were car dancing (to Jessie Ware’s latest album) with excitement. The landscape was other worldly, almost actual unreal looking. I can’t begin to articulate how beautiful. The country is covered in these pretty purple flowers right now, which make everything look magical.

Our first Airbnb was beautiful. A cabin in the middle of nowhere, near the whale fjords. So, picturesque and the perfect start to this trip. I did have 4 hours of calls/interviews and live Zoom events to do, but it didn’t matter. We were in heaven. We struggled to sleep later than 3am that first night, so we went to play in the geothermal hot spring that over looks a lake. It was already daylight and the most beautiful.

We then moved on to a town called Geysir. It was so pretty and the cabin was beautiful, again. There wasn’t much to do out there, so we just lounged around. We really wanted a couple of super relaxed days, so it was great. We ate GORG pastries. Who knew Iceland had such great baked goods? Not me, but I sure do now. I’m positive I’ve put at least 3 pounds of pastry weight and I don’t regret a single one.
We’re now in a place called Vik, which we love. The hotel is lovely, but it’s the black beach, across the street, that’s the real draw. It's one of the main things I wanted to see, and has not disappointed. Wait till you see pics of this place. It’s unreal. I can’t wait to come back and do some kind of photoshoot here one day. It’d be nuts.
The people have been so lovely and welcoming. The population is so small but they seem to adore tourists and do all they can to make you feel welcome. We didn’t know how communication would go, but everyone speaks English perfectly, so for us, life here is easy. That privilege, man!

Tomorrow we go to the thing Rob’s been waiting for…the Glaciers. We’re doing a boat tour and we can hardly wait. But, before that, a quick trip to the bakery is what I need right now. I need my evening carb/sugar fix.
Baby update:
Our surrogate is doing well but her blood pressure is higher than the doc would like. So, they’re all keeping an eye on it, and might need to induce a couple weeks early, if it continues. It’s a little stressful, as we’re so far away, and still 8 weeks out, but hoping our boy is doing well in there. Praying we get to at least 37 weeks. He’s now at 32.
I can’t believe how fast this is going. He’ll be here before we know it. But, after Iceland, I head to London for 2 weeks, for work, and then I’ll be working from home, nesting with Rob, getting ready for his arrival. AAaarggh.
Meet you back here next week.
Xx
Oh, and check out my IG for all my Iceland pics.
