I just got back from my press tour, in NYC, and had such a wonderful time. I’ve only been to New York once since the pandemic, which makes me sad as it's my favorite place to be, outside of SLC. We were there for Queer Eye press, so I got to see my friends/co-hosts, which made for the perfect start to the year.
It was kinda weird to be in the city during the craziness of the new variant, but we were all tested every day and thankfully managed to stay safe.
We did Jimmy Fallon’s show, which is always a highlight, along with a few other talk shows. I think this was my 4th or 5th time on the show, which feels like such an honor. He’s the most lovely and makes everyone feel so welcome, but I'd like to believe that he has a soft spot for us Fab 5. Karamo couldn’t make the press tour, and he was very much missed, but we were still able to have a blast.

On the last night, I went to Antoni’s house for dinner and many laughs. I love that idiot so, so much, and I thank God for bringing him (and his partner Kevin) in to my life. We get along so well, and he became one of my very best friends so quickly. I pray we’ll always be close friends.
He and Kev are planning to come stay with me and Rob within the next few weeks. I hope we can pull that off, because we’ve been trying to get them out here, to Utah, for so long now. I want to show them why I love my Salt Lake City so much, and to convince them to wanna come back often.
Back to the press tour. I loved my outfits. I know it's lame to say that about your own work, but I think they were great. I pulled my outfits together in literally 20 minutes, the night before my flight, as my son was having a bad day (teething) and needed my attention. So, I threw looks together hoping they’d read well on camera. I think they did.
There’s always so much pressure for me to look well put together, as that’s my job, so people always have an opinion on what I'm wearing. Even if many people hated what I wore in NY, I felt good. And, sometimes, that’s all that matters.

Now I'm back home and actually have a week off, which is so not normal for me. I'm so happy to have time off, as I desperately just want to spend time focusing on Ismail, and getting my house together. I have baby stuff everywhere. It looks like a baby store exploded in my home. I usually pride myself on having such a tidy home, and it gives me anxiety when all things are not in their rightful place. So, when he naps, I'm going to use those hours to get my house back. I can't wait.
We also have our nanny starting tomorrow. She will be working 6-7 hours a day, 5 days a week. We really needed the help, what with my extremely demanding career, and Rob’s career, so I'm hoping this will be a game changer for us as a family. I pray that she loves Ismail, and loves working with us, and in turn, that we love her and she becomes almost a part of our little family. Here’s hoping.
Well, off to get tidying. Have a great week and I’ll be back on here next week!
