I know, I know… I sound like an old man when I say “I can’t believe it's Christmas already. Where did this year go”, but really, I can’t believe it's Christmas week already. Where DID this year go? It flew by. When I look back at what's happened this year, I have no idea how we fit it all in!
We’ve been getting the house ready for the arrival of my family, this weekend. It’s been such a joy to prep the house for their arrival. I can’t believe they’ll finally get to see what life is like for me here in America, after 14 years of me being here. Gosh, I hope they love it. And, I hope that the weather holds up, so that they’re able to go out and about, and actually see what this place has to offer.
It’s also crazy that the new season of QUEER EYE comes out in less than 2 weeks. Wait, did I already tell you that it comes out December 31st ? Well, if I didn’t, you now know. It comes out New Years Eve, so when you’re home, hung over on New Years day, it’ll be like getting the best, warm hug to see you through the very start of the year.
I honestly think you’ll love it. It is, without a doubt, the best US season yet. I’ve said many times that I think our best season was our bonus, mini-season in Japan (it’s called Queer Eye; We’re in Japan, on Netflix), because the stories were so unique, but of all of the US Seasons, this new one, Season 6, is my favorite. You’ll see why, when you watch, but the heroes are really special and have stories that we haven’t really explored before on the show.
Because the new season launches soon, we leave for a press tour on January 4th, to promote it, which I'm really excited for. We haven’t released a new season of the show in a year and a half, which means we haven’t done press together in ages. Also, the last season launched early on in the Pandemic, so we didn’t do press in person. All this to say, it’ll be so nice to see my dummies in person again, and do fun interviews and talk shows. I think we’re doing Jimmy Fallon again, which we always love. It’ll be my fourth time on the show, which kind of blows my mind and feels like such an honor. When I do shows like that, it’s always such a pinch me moment.

Total gear shift. I HAVE TO get my eating under control. Ever since we had Ismail, over 5 months ago, I’ve eaten so much dessert/baked stuff. I love it so much. It’s one of my greatest joys in life. But, if I continue the way I'm going, I won’t live past 40, I'm sure. So, come January 1st , I'm going to cut back. I'm not one for “diets”, but I am one for eating healthy, usually. Before Ismail, I would have dessert maybe 1-2 times a week, instead of the 2-3 times a day that I'm doing now. I was able to do the 1-2 times a week for the past 4-5 years, other than around the holidays, which I was really happy with. Diabetes runs in my family, so I have to be really careful. I'm looking forward to feeling healthier again.
I'm writing this as I have a tray of coconut chocolate cookies in the oven. My gosh, I need to get a grip.
I hope you all have the very best Christmas or Holiday break. Whatever you celebrate. I'm sending so much love to all of you dear readers!!
