Did I just find my favorite new vacay destination, and lose my virginity, all in one week?

Ok, now that, dear readers, is what we call clickbait. Hehehehe. Just kidding. I did, however have my very first experience of something, but I'm jumping the gun.

It’s been quite a busy week, which is no real change for me, but this one gave me a few new experiences, which I'm dying to share with you.

Firstly, I don’t usually tell people this, as they think I’ve lost my mind, but I'm not a fan of tropical vacations. It's not that I don’t like exotic places. I do, and I think they are visually stunning, but, I have a terrible allergic reaction when I get bitten by mosquitos. So, I do all I can to avoid beach vacations, or humid spots. It makes it pretty hard to shoot Queer Eye, as we always shoot in the summer, and they always choose locations that are humid as fuck, and therefore have a heap of mosquitos.

On the very first season of QE, I got bitten on my neck, and my neck and arm swelled so damn much that they couldn’t shoot me from that one side at all, as I looked like something was seriously wrong with me. That’s what happens every time I get bitten. My limbs swell up, and get super red and hot to the touch. This lasts around 4-5 days, and it's miserable. So, when we’re shooting QE, outside of work I rarely leave my apartment, which is sad.

However, this past weekend was the wedding of my manager, and I really wanted to go. The wedding was in Puerto Vallarta. I was told by many people that there aren’t really any mosquitos out there at this time of year, and they were right. I didn’t see any and managed to not get bitten the entire 24 hours I was out there. I enjoyed myself so much. What a lovely place it is.

Also, it’s so close by, that it’s just a quick 2.5 hour direct flight. Dream! I think I’ll go back with Rob and Ismail soon. We’ve never been on a beach vacay together, and I think it’d be a lovely one to do, as a family.

I stayed at a lovely hotel, which just so happened to be all-inclusive. I’ve never stayed at one before, and had no idea how it all worked, so I asked for the check, when I dined in room, and was greeted with a laugh by the staff. I thought there must be a catch, but no. Literally didn’t have to spend a penny, other than on tips. AND the room service food was so good. Like, legit so good. I was wildly impressed. I can’t wait to go back.

Then, on Monday I got to do something I’ve never done before. I went to my first Arena Concert. I went to see Billie Eilish, with Rob, and we had one of the best nights ever. We’ve loved her since the first time we heard her on the radio, 4 years ago, and we absolutely loved the show. It was so surreal, as we know Billie and her brother, Finneas, personally. So, it felt extra special seeing them perform and work the audience so beautifully. They were both incredible and put on such a great show. It surpassed my expectations completely. I cannot wait to now go to my next Arena show. I'm fully in!

Right, Ismail just woke from his nap and making it very clear that he’s not happy that I tricked him in to sleeping, so I’d better go rescue him from the crib.

See you back here next week.

Our move to New Orleans and starting to shoot Season 7 of Queer Eye

Well, folks, we made it to New Orleans. It wasn’t easy getting here, my gosh. Ismail had such a rough flight. We had been nervous about this flight for days, and were hoping that he would have a nice time and just enjoy being in a new setting. However, the flight was pretty much exactly when he takes his afternoon nap, which meant that we had ...

Cancelled London plans, extra time at home and gearing up to shoot a new Queer Eye.

Rob and I were planning to go to London for 5 days, as I had a work event there, and Rob was going to have his first proper break from watching Ismail and we could not have been more excited to be going away together. Our nanny was going to watching our son for 5 days, and we trust her completely. Actually, she probably does a better job of pare...

Back to shooting my favorite show, Next in Fashion, and celebrating my son’s first Eid.

Every time I come here to write a new post, I wanna start it by saying “wow, what a week”. I guess every week has felt a little bit nuts over recent years, and it just never gets old. That’s a good thing. I love the excitement I still feel.

So glad you had such fun ♥️ Have you spoken to an allergist about the mosquito but reaction? I have no clue if there’s any way to medically manage it. I just hate it that you stuck in your apartment and so miserable during summer shoots. Btw, you are doing a fabu job at being a dad and a husband. You need to here that ♥️

In the UK you can get prescription anti histamines. I holiday with a friend who has the same problem, endured years of choking while he doused himself with bug repellent every 15 minutes! Pharmacy ones don’t help if you have such a strong reaction. If …

Tan, I am like you with mosquitos and always get eaten alive! My saving grace is an Avon product! They have 2 I use bug guard plus with Picardin. DEET free which is a must for me! I coat myself in it and don't miss a spot or they will find it!
    Good luck!

@Tan FYI, a quick tip... Skin So Soft Originial Oil by Avon repels mosquitos like nothing on the market. My daughter has terrible reactions when bitten too and my friend told me about Skin So Soft, which is a bath oil. You just apply it to your skin …
