Does anyone else feel like they’ve been reborn, when the Spring weather finally kicks in? The weather these past few days, here in Salt Lake, has been just gorgeous. It’s my very favorite time of the year. In my opinion, there’s nowhere prettier than Utah in the Spring.
My only issue is that when Spring hits, so does Easter….which means the temptation of Easter chocolate every time I go to the store, which is WAY too often. For any of you who have been following me on IG for the last few years, you know that sweet treats are my weakness, and chocolate is my absolute favorite. I'm obsessed with Reese's Peanut Butter eggs. Fuuuu, I ate 4 in one sitting a few nights back. It’s becoming a problem I'm determined to quit as soon as possible.
I went to a friend’s Bday hang, last night, and had the most lovely time. I’ve been friends with my SLC crew for almost 15 years, and love these girls so much. The Bday girl wanted to do a cereal dinner-party, where we all bring our favorite cereal and we all try each others. It’s a cute thing to do, and is always a delish time. We stayed out until 11:30, which is not like us, and Ismail wakes by 6am regardless of what time we go to bed, so Rob and I woke up feeling bloody rough today. I can’t wait for bed.

We did get some GREAT news that really perked up our week. We finally have all of our plans for the new house build approved, and we should be able to start excavating in a month or so. We can hardly wait. We’ve been working on designs for our dream home for so long now, and we can’t wait to get going, to really make it feel like this dream will be a reality. We know how lucky we are to be in a position to be able to build our home. I didn’t think this would ever be a possibility for us, and it’s such a pinch me moment.
We are going to be building a Tudor home, which is our favorite style of home. We wanted something that was classic, that would stand the test of time, and not look dated in a few years like so many homes built within the last few decades. We are definitely planning for this house to be a maximalist house. We want it to feel cosy and lived in. A friend asked us, last night, which room we’re most excited about but I honestly don’t have one single room that is my fave. I love them all. We have worked so hard on the design of the house, to make it completely us. However, the thought of cooking in that new gorgeous kitchen, with the most magnificent views, does get me all excited.
Once we actually get going on building, I will be sure to give you regular updates on here. I want you to fall in love with it as much as I have.
We’re waiting on supplies, which are delayed, but with the way of the world right now, we’re not too surprised. We just hope that we don’t have to wait much longer than 14-16 months to get it completed and moved in. Our hope is to be in there by next summer….mostly because we have completely outgrown our closet in this house and have nowhere to put anything. I know, I know….champagne problems.
I hope you all have a great week and I’ll see you here next week.
xx
