It’s crazy how fast the time is going by for me, here in New York. I’m here for 5 weeks and sad that I'm already 2 weeks in. It’s bitter sweet. Of course, I wanna be home and with my son, to see every new little thing he does, and to hold him in my arms, but I also love being here doing my job. I love this job. I'm learning that I can love both, and give all the time I have to both, and should stop punishing myself for not being back home.
Being in New York really has been so much fun. I’ve wanted to spend a good chunk of time here since I last lived here 17 years ago (ish), and so happy that I get the chance to be. Especially, on a sunny day like today.
This season on Next in Fashion (was call it NIF), on runway days, we get to start at 11am, instead of the 7:30am I usually start, which is so nice. That means I get to meet friends for breakfast every few days. I love being here for that reason. It brings me so much joy to stroll around the city, and stop to meet a friend for great food. Today, is one of those days. I'm meeting up with the fantastic designer, Joseph Altuzarra. I met him through Gigi a few months ago and instantly connected. He’s so sweet and so talented.
Speaking of Gigi, we have really found our rhythm at work. We work so bloody well together, and we have so much fun. There hasn’t been one moment where we’re not happy to be there and enjoying the show. Don’t get me wrong, eliminating designers is horrible to have to do, but even that we support each other through, which is lovely.

This is our first 2 days off from filming. Yesterday was the first day, and Gigi and I were texting, talking about how much we miss each other and have separation anxiety. It’s strange spending 12-13 hours a day with someone every day and then none at all for a day. Going forward, for the rest of my time here, I'm going to see her on my days off. I need her joy to keep me peppy.
I have an event tonight, which I'm excited about. I'm on the board of the new Fashion Trust U.S. It’s the new US version of something that already exists in the UK and middle east. They are the reason the British Fashion Council has been able to help so many new designers, and they asked if I'd join to help launch the U.S leg, which I'm so honored to do.
Tonight, me and Laura Brown, who is also a board member, are hosting a dinner for a few famous, talented, fashionable friends, to help spread the word about this fantastic Trust. I have to say a few words at the event, which makes me a little anxious, because many of these people I’ve looked up to for a long time, but I'm sure it’ll go well.
Now, what I really wanna ask you all is….did you watch the Selling Sunset Reunion? If so, did you enjoy it? I worked so hard to host that show, and my gosh, it’s not an easy job, but I think it turned out really well. If you did see it, let me know what you think!
Ok, time to head to brunch. Have a great week, everyone!!
