I went to NYC to shoot something for NY Fashion Week, which I can’t reveal until later this week, but because I knew I’d be needed for a couple of days, I made a trip of it and decided to PACK everything I could in to this trip, and I'm so glad I did. It has been the busiest 4 days, and I loved it.
For 3 days, a couple hours a day, I went to work, shooting the soon to be revealed film. The rest of the time was filled with seeing the people I love, eating fantastic food, and going to fashion-y stuff.
My first night, I went to a CFDA Fashion Week kick off cocktail party, which was intimate and lovely. I didn’t expect to be going, and was invited a few days beforehand, so I asked the womenswear brand, Zimmerman, if I could borrow a look. They had a pink suit that I loved, but I wanted to turn the trousers in to shorts. So, as soon as I checked in to my hotel, I picked up the suit from the concierge and got cutting and sewing, to make those pants shorts. I loved the suit and felt so good in it. Then, whilst at the event, I met the owners and designers of Zimmerman. I was so happy that they loved the look and weren’t offended that I’d made my own edits! They could not have been more lovely, and we had the best evening, which I topped off by going to the Christian Cowan runway show, which was extra in all the best, most fun ways.

The Shorts!
The next night I went to see my friend Alex Edleman’s comedy show with my friend Laura Brown and her fiancé. It was FANTASTIC. If you get a chance to watch, I would highly recommend it. After that, we went for dinner, where my friend and new co-host Gigi met us. We had such a wonderful night and stayed out until 1am, which is so not like me.

Then, on my last night in town, I went to the most amazing runway show. Altuzarra, where Gigi closed the show. It was so, so beautiful and I felted honored to be there. I went backstage to meet Joseph Altuzarra, after the show, who I became fast friends with. We all had dinner together after the show, and I stayed out way too late, but it was worth it. It was such a fun evening, and one I won’t forget any time soon.

Today was my last half day in NYC, so I had brunch and a stroll with Antoni and Gigi, to “celebrate” Valentine’s day together, before heading home to SLC. We went to Balthazar. If you’re ever in NYC and get a chance to go, take it. It’s always great, and the atmosphere is wonderful.

Now, I'm on my way back to my boys. This is the longest I’ve been away from them since October, when I had to go to London for work, for 10 days. That was brutal. I missed Ismail like crazy. I’ve only been away for 5 days but it feels like I haven’t held him for weeks. My body aches to have him on me. My gosh, I'm obsessed with that boy.
Before I left town, we’d been without the night nanny for a week. The first few nights of just me and Rob watching him at night were tough. We’d put Ismail down at 7pm, and he’d wake 3-4 times, crying, and then would wake up for the day around 5:30am. The last couple of nights before I left, he was finally back to sleeping from 7pm-6am. I'm praying he mostly keeps that up. His whole day is off when he doesn’t sleep the whole night, and my heart bleeds for him.
He’s now 7 months old and growing bigger and stronger by the day. He LOVES his solids and is getting better and better at playing with his toys, alone. I think he’s going to crawl later than most babies, but I'm not mad at that. I love him wanting to be held and not being too independent… for now. I would miss him too much if he didn’t need me as much.
I have a quieter week than usual this week, where I get to work from home, so I’ll get plenty of baby time. Exactly what I want. My happiest place.
Have a great week, every one. Stay safe out there.
