What a weirdly horrible few days. With all that is happening in the Ukraine, it’s been hard to focus on anything work related, or entertaining. I haven’t quite figured out how to navigate my way through all of this, and I am hyper aware that none of this is about me, but I'm trying my best to not be insensitive or inappropriate, on my social media, by posting my outfit or my favorite pastries in town. It all seems so ridiculous with what’s going on across the pond.
Up until 4 years ago and I never gave any thought to what I post and when I post, but when you’re in the public eye, people have expectations, and one can rarely live up to them, and can never appease everyone. So, I’ve been avoiding posting (other than my support for them) as it just seems like the appropriate thing to do, all things considered. But, what do I know? What I do know is how scared I feel for humanity, and my gosh my heart goes out to the Ukrainian people. I pray this war ends soon, and that the Ukrainian people are free to rebuild their lives and country.

I have been doing all I can to keep my spirits up, which means more TV than usual, as a form of escapism. I don’t think I’ve ever really talked about what I'm watching, on here, so maybe my recommendations will be well received by you all, and offer you some joy in these dark times?
I wanna make something clear before I get started. Although I work for Netflix, I'm not suggesting any Netflix shows because I ‘have to’. I love me some other streamers too, folks.
Rob and I literally just finished Inventing Anna, last night. I'm so glad we’re finally done. We really enjoyed the show, but my gosh Anna, the character, was driving us nuts. How was she getting people to adore her, and take her seriously? She was a complete D bag. The show was so well done, and Julia Garner is a freakin fantastic actress, but another episode extra and I might have thrown my phone at the TV.
I know I'm not the target audience for this show, but I LOVE Euphoria, on HBO max. I know many will say it’s bad because it encourages kids to live a dangerous life. I disagree. I think it’s a window in to a world that does exist, to some extent, and if anything, I think it acts as a deterrent. If I were a teen watching that show I’d be thinking “Ok, note to self, never try drugs!”. I think the acting is incredible, from everyone on the show, and I think it's just so well done.
Did you already watch White Lotus? I know it’s a few months old now, but we binged the show in a few days and loved every minute. I always love Jennifer Coolidge, but in my opinion, this was her best work yet. Bloody heck it was a good show.
Mare of EastTown was one of my favorite shows of last year. When we watched the first episode, I thought it was going to be too slow paced for me, but after that I was more hooked than I’ve been on a show in a long time. If you have HBO max and haven’t seen it yet, I would suggest you watch that above all others. The last episode is genius.
Netflix does also have an Indian/Bollywood show that just came out. The Fame Game. I watched the first episode yesterday and loved it. I can’t wait to watch more tonight.
Ooh, one last one. The Guilded Age on HBO max. Have you started watching it yet? It's by the creator of Downton Abbey, which I was a mega fan of. This is kind of like an American version of that, which I'm not hating on. I will happily watch anything Downton-esque.
If you’re wondering how the heck I have time for shows, I actually rarely watch TV at home. With the baby, it’s so hard to focus on TV, so I download shows and watch them on my flights. I rarely watch the entertainment they have onboard, so I can usually watch a whole season of a show within a couple of flights. It’s the only way I can bare those long flights.
Well, I’ve jabbered on and on for longer than usual, so I should leave it at that for now. Hopefully, when I write my next Bulletin post next week, we’ll be able to celebrate the end of the horror across the pond. My gosh I hope so!
